This week we caught up with Gabriella’s stylist Susie to get a peek into Ms. Cilmi’s wardrobe secrets…
What styles suit Gabriella best?
Gab loves structured short dresses. She has a great figure and wears the look really well. She’s also great in skinny jeans and a sloppy jumper or little jacket.
Where do you get Gabriella’s outfits from?
Gab has a couple of designers who she regularly uses. William Tempest is currently making her something for the Brit Awards and Clinton Lotter, a relatively unknown designer who stocks a capsule collection in Luna & Curious on Brick Lane, is making her a dress for her performance at the Melbourne Grand Prix.
What are Gabriella’s favourite high street stores?
She’s a real fan of Religion clothing, especially the new Spring Summer collection.
How would you define Gabriella’s style?
Gabriella has a really varied style. She has a real eye for special pieces - we were going through her wardrobe the other day and found her pirate hat, a vintage Vivienne Westwood piece which is AMAZING. She's influenced by the old Hollywood icons, especially Sophia Loren.
What are the best and worst things about your job?
I love my job! It’s really hard work, but can be very rewarding when you see your concepts and ideas come into fruition on screen.
How did you get into celebrity styling?
I wouldn't say I'm a celebrity stylist, I'm a costume designer/stylist that happens to work with celebrities. I started designing costumes for theatre shows about 15 years ago and have moved into fashion, film, TV, and then into music as it can be a really creative outlet. It's good to have a mix of clients as it keeps the ideas fresh.
What tips would you give someone who wanted to become a stylist?
Work hard, assist someone who's work you admire, be true and fight for your creative input, but don't be precious as styling should be organic and collaborative.

Gabriella weekend blog
Over the weekend I watched The Notebook- maybe a bit too romantic for a Saturday afternoon- kissing in the rain a little bit much...but I guess it's a bit of a guilty pleasure.
On Friday night I went to the live filming of "Pop star to opera star"! I sat right next to the judges and got to meet MEATLOAF.
I was very exciting considering I used to love dancing and singing along to "Paradise by the Dashboard light"...yet another guilty pleasure. I don't care much for "Bat out of Hell version 5000"...but I do love the original. I got a picture with him YAY!
Excited that "On A Mission" is available for downloading in Australia!! Lets get it to the top!!!
I'm looking through the latest Jean Paul Gaultier collection on style.com which was inspired by Avatar! If you haven't seen the film go and see it!! The outfits are incredible. These ones are my favorites.

I also have to do a quick shout out to MAC cosmetics for putting together a little make-up kit for me after I LOST MINE!!
Ahh I'm loosing everything these days such a bummer! But I got my favorite coffee eye pencil so I feel much better.
Did a shoot for fashionair.com on Friday and wore an amazing Stella McCartney lace all in one piece- I'll post the video up once it's put together on the website!!
